Abstract: Suicide is one of the phenomena that recently spread in most of the worlds' regions in which reports and studies points out that they are in a continual increase and started to appear in all societies on one hand, on the other hand the increase of suicide cases in most of Iraq regions recently and its pervasion in Nineveh governorate. I tried to study the suicide phenomenon in Nineveh plain area from the legal perspective and clarify its most important reasons, methods and its means. Concerning suicide most prominent motives, the report pointed out that they varied among "social, psychological and economical reasons" in addition to poverty and war repercussions as well as deterioration of human rights reality. The sample is confined with the lawsuits recorded in Nineveh plain courts for the year of 2021 which are (14 lawsuit). The research sample area resembles in Al-hamdaniyah district, Bashiqa sub-district that is related to Mosul district, and Alqosh sub-district related to Telkef district. The majority of the sample citizens are from different religious components, most of them are Christians, Yazidies, Shabak Muslims and Iraqi Arabs. Official recorded statistics in the courts that are related to the Supreme Judicial Council of the area had been used and I tried, with personal efforts, to know the reasons and methods of suicide cases by personal interviews with the claimants of the accused ones (suicides) personal right. The research reached a number of vital results and recommendations with a detailed conclusion concerning the subject.
